After one of my GA3 Grip End Plug came out on the first ride I used them I was frantically trying to find replacements but they were not available anywhere. I didn't feel comfortable riding without end plugs as I have seen some serious injuries without them (think cookie cutter). I saw that the GD1 end plugs were much like the traditional plugs where they went in the bars. It looked like a better design. I figured that they would at least fit the bars and that the outside diameter would be close enough. When they arrived they were more of a rubber consistency than that of the GA3's which feel like plastic. They also had the traditional ribs of many bar ends from my past. They were a little smaller than the ones for the GA3's but honestly if you never saw the other ones you would never even notice. I have since received a pair of GA3 end plugs but I am not planning on changing since ever post I ever see on them says they fall out. I experienced it on one ride. The GA3 grips are AMAZING... love the feel and the little bit of wrist support makes more difference than you would think without being a huge wing like some of them. I would buy them for my fatbike and my DH bike but I am very hesitant as it would mean buying extra end plugs. the price on them quickly goes up. With German engineering I would suspect that they would have fixed this problem. It wouldn't take much to fix this problem.
