Offered in Small or Large, this is the thickness of the grip in hand.  The Small and Large are the same length and have the same wing size.  The only difference is the thickness of the grip in hand.  Riders with smaller hands are best to choose the Small size.  Riders with large hands are an ideal fit to the Large size. Ultimately, choice of size is a rider personal preference.

Standard: 2 full length grips

Why bar ends?
Bar ends offer the rider additional hand positions.  Bar ends also allow greater leverage when pulling on the handlebars.  Ergon offers its bar ends in various length to suit the demands of all riders.

Comfortable Grip, Uncomfortable & Brittle & Expensive-to-Replace Bar Ends

I've used Ergon GP grips on 2 of my mountain bikes, these GP5s on a Trek 1120 bikepacking bike for a year. I've been working to really dial in the bike recently, and so doing some intensive riding. I'm finding that my hands are still going numb with these grips after a couple dozen miles. Tweaking the angle of the grip slightly to keep my wrist as straight as possible helps but doesn't entirely eliminate numbness. But all in all, happy with the grips themselves.

The bar ends are another matter, tho. I've always loved bar ends; they are a great aid for climbing and should offer additional hand positions. However, these bar ends have never been confortable, nor really functional. They are just angled wrong with no way to correct it in 3D. They twist in a single plane at the end of the bars, which for my bike does me little good. So my wrists are at odd angles on the bars, absorbing too much shock.

Worse, my bike toppled over while doing some tweaks in my kitchen, and one of these bar ends simply broke. Which tells me that they are not up to the demands of touring AT ALL. Worse still is the difficulty replacing these. Ergon defers to local dealers. My local dealer (REI) doesn't have parts. Parts online, including at Ergon itself, are typically sold out at the moment, and are sold individually. So the net effect is that you're buying a whole new set of grips as the least-cost option to fix a part that should never have broken so easily.

I plan to step back to a GP2 end which hopefully won't break so easily. And future purchases may not include a bar end at all.

Eases my ride

These grips really help alleviate stress on my hands and wrist. Very comfortable. The stems are really great for a change of position

Fantastic Grips

Love these grips, and better yet the bar-end extenders. They make available more hand positions than just the stock grips. The bar-ends make a huge different on hills and have NEVER come loose. Highly recommend!

Buy Again

Back 2012, I purchased a pair of GC3 and GR2 grips for two of my bikes. I knew from the first ride that I would buy only Ergons from then on. Especially since my arthritis has increased and I have begun riding scooter bikes, I appreciate the palm rest and far-more-secure hand position/control.
