Finding a new saddle is either hit or miss.
So far this one is a winner!
Very comfortable and well made!
Great for touring but might be a bit plush for a long road ride........not sure yet?
I purchased this seat for my Priority Embark eBike. I am a runner turned biker so I have less experience with saddles. But I combed threads and found high recommendations on this saddle. So far it has been a night and day difference from the stock seat that came on the bike. I paired this saddle with the Cirrus Cycles KINEKT 2.1 Aluminum Suspension seat post and I feel like I can ride for hours without any uncomfortable sensations.
Excluding the recent purchase of this saddle, I presently have 9 saddles by other manufacturers. This is my 2nd Ergon saddle. The other an SC Core Prime L presently on my Como E-bike; the ST Core Prime on my Vado 5.0. In both instances, all saddle issues/problems were solved. The dynamic feature of the saddles is a plus. Were everyone who rides bikes looking for comfortable performance to try Ergon products for two or three rides, Ergon would certainly be the choice.
I recently built up a Surly Krampus for daily 20mi commute duty with future plans of grandeur. Had a number of problems with comfort on various saddles from various companies. At one point I had 4 saddles at once in a trial, riding each about 20mi. This saddle stands out not only on top but it was the only saddle that truly gave me a comfortable ride without exception. The saddle shape is aggressive enough to ride aero if needed, the cut out in the middle is a godsend as well. Other saddles often either have too much pressure in the middle back area or are too wide or pinch my legs as I pedal and give me saddle sores. Other saddles with this much padding all pinch your legs or other areas. This saddle was the only one to do none of these things. The foam system TRUELY works well. It takes very little force on the edge of the seat to pivot it, this means you do not feel the saddle as much when you pedal because it is moving with you! The force required to move it gets progressivly stiffer towards the middle so you do not sacrifice feeling secure on the saddle. This is seriously big for comfort. The extra perk is the material does seem to dampen the ride wonderfully. It was already a nice ride with a carbon seatpost and massive 3" knard tires, this makes it even more enjoyable to do my daily commute. It does have one downside, if you care, its probably 2x the weight of other saddles. For me this is worth every extra gram as I can now ride my bike as much and as far as I wish! See you out there!
